When Saul of Tarsus (soon to be known as the apostle Paul) saw the risen Lord Jesus on the road to Damascus, he first began to understand the concept that the church (whom he persecuted) is the spiritual body of Christ. Jesus asked him, "Saul, Saul why are you persecuting ME?" (Acts 9:4b).

To be "in Christ" is to be "in the church", "in the kingdom", the bride...to be saved.

In his inspired writings, Paul used the term "in Christ", or an equivalent term 160+ times.

Simply put, salvation is only "in Christ"!


* All SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS are "in Christ"
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ." - Ephesians 1:3

* The PEACE THAT SURPASSES UNDERSTANDING is "in Christ"
"And the peace of God which surpasses understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 4:4

* The POWER OF GOD is worked "in Christ"
"And to know the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe; according to the power of His strength which He worked in Christ after He raised Him from the dead..." - Ephesians 1:19-20

* GRACE is "in Christ"
"...be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus." - 2 Timothy 2:1
"...unto the praise and glory of His grace with which He favored us in the Beloved." - Ephesians 1:6

* The CALLED are "in Christ"
"Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ, and a brother of James, to the called in Christ Jesus and beloved of God; who keep themselves" - Jude 1

* FAITH and LOVE are "in Christ"
"...the grace of our Lord superabounded with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus." - I Timothy 1:14

* FAITH WORKING THROUGH LOVE is "in Christ"
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has meaning, but faith working through love." - Galatians 5:6

* ETERNAL LIFE is "in Christ"
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

* REDEMPTION (THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS) is "in Christ"

"Be gracious one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God has forgiven you in Christ Jesus." - Ephesians 4:32

* Christians are ALIVE "in Christ"
"But God being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in transgressions made us alive together in Christ (by grace you have been saved)..." - Ephesians 2:4-5

* Our HOPE is "in Christ"
"...in order that we who first hoped in Christ may be unto the praise of His glory." - Ephesians 1:12

* Christians are CHILDREN OF GOD "in Christ"
"For you are all children of God in Christ Jesus through the faith."- Galatians 3:26

* Christians are CREATED "in Christ"
"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus on the basis of good works which God foreordained that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10

* Christians are ONE "in Christ"
"There is neither Jew nor Greek; there is neither slave nor free; there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:28

* Christians are SEALED by the Holy Spirit "in Christ"
"...in whom, after you believed, you were sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise." - Ephesians 1:13

* We receive PROVIDENTIAL CARE "in Christ"
"But my God shall supply your every need according to the richesof His glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19
